Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating
Hazel Camille Bradford knows sheβs a lot to takeβand frankly, most men arenβt up to the challenge. If her army of pets and thrill for the absurd donβt send them running, her lack of filter means sheβll say exactly the wrong thing in a delicate moment. Their loss. Sheβs a good soul in search of honest fun.
Josh Im has known Hazel since college, where her zany playfulness proved completely incompatible with his mellow restraint. From the first night they metβwhen she gracelessly threw up on his shoesβto when she sent him an unintelligible email while in a post-surgical haze, Josh has always thought of Hazel more as a spectacle than a peer. But now, ten years later, after a cheating girlfriend has turned his life upside down, going out with Hazel is a breath of fresh air.
Not that Josh and Hazel date. At least, not each other. Because setting each other up on progressively terrible double blind dates means thereβs nothing between them…right?
My Review of Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating
I have wanted to read this one FOREVER!!! The cover and the reviews are AMAZING!!! I finally decided to get it and bought the kindle edition because I couldn’t wait for it to be delivered in hard copy! Yes, I waited months to read it and couldn’t wait for delivery… Cause that’s how I roll! Anyway, great read!
Josh and Hazel are not dating. Well not each other anyway. They are best buddies and go out on double dates to try and help the other one find love. Because that works every time right?
Look, I really enjoyed this one. But I didn’t love it. I am not sure exactly why. And it REALLY doesn’t matter, because it was still a fantastic book! I just don’t think I really resonated with Hazel. Although she did grow on me as time went on, I found her really annoying at the beginning. And Josh didn’t really do it for me that much either.
But as I read on, I enjoyed it more and more. It was absolutely one of the best romance I read this year!
I found it extremely funny in places, so much so that I laughed out loud in a few parts. It was quite intelligent and witty and left a good feeling in your tummy after a decent belly-laugh.
The writing was great, clever, modern and just so darn funny in places! And OH MY there were some steamy scenes and some great romantic tension-building.
Would I recommend Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating?
Yes for sure. I am certain that the majority of people who enjoy romantic comedy’s will like this one – I really enjoyed it!
